METRO Board Director Bentley Wallace, chairman of the board personnel committee, announced today that METRO has hired Springsted Waters Executive Recruitment of Dallas to recruit its next executive director.

“METRO had great success in hiring our most recent executive director through a national search firm, and it was the board’s desire that we follow a similar process for finding METRO’s next leader,” said Wallace, vice chancellor for economic development at UA – Pulaski Technical College. “We’re confident the Springsted team will engage in a robust recruitment and assessment process to find the right person who will continue building on the authority’s achievements.”

Springsted will begin public outreach in early January, after working with the METRO board and executive staff to develop a comprehensive candidate profile. Recruitment execution, recommendations to the board and interviews will follow, with an accepted final offer expected to occur in April.

“We are excited to work with METRO and build upon our many successful transit executive placements,” said Chuck Rohre, Springsted Waters senior vice president and recruitment project team leader. “With our agency’s decades of experience in human resource management and our team’s multi-state reach, we are confident we can match METRO with a dynamic professional ready to take on central Arkansas’ mobility needs.”
